Rachel is a Kentucky wonder, transplanted to Texas. She has a husband with secret super powers and six delightful children, including one in Heaven and one preparing to make his appearance. Rachel likes sewing, smocking, scrapbooking, reading, and cooking extraordinarily nutritious foods that give Kiersten hives, among other hobbies. She dutifully attempted knitting, and has not thrown it away, which gives Kiersten hope for the future. In her former life, Rachel was a public school teacher in the inner city. Rachel met Kiersten the summer of 1996 when her husband dragged her down the way to meet his new friend (and fellow seminary student) and his wife and infant son.
Kiersten is from the plains of Kansas where everyone speaks correct English and there is actually a difference in pronunciation between sale and sell. She is married to a hunky pastor and has 4 children that are collectively called the JAKE. She has many hobbies but is quite the knitting guru and can whip out a hat or pair of socks in no time. She has tried diligently to teach her friend Rachel, but has her doubts that she will ever be proficient. She has started writing her own patterns and putting them up for sale(or is that sell).
She met Rachel in Jackson, MS while their husbands were in seminary. From Rachel, she learned all sorts of new things about the English language. She hosted Jon and Rachel for many nights of cards with Starburst jelly beans and peanut butter m&m’s.
